| History
Western
Badge & Button Company (founded 1912) resulted from a spin-off
of the hot stamping department of an awing company. In the early
days, genuine gold foil was used in hot stamping (ribbons of that
era are museum pieces of value today.) The original press (made
in 1902) is still on the premises.
After
World War II, the company changed it's name to Western Badge &
Trophy Company, and expanded into the awards business, which blossomed
through the phenomena of wartime awareness of recreation. A new
factory was built in the early fifties, and during the sixties
several small acquisitions were made, including the opening of
a branch store in Orange County(Anaheim) in 1966. Having outgrown
the manufacturing space, WB&T acquired the present 24,000
square foot facility in 1973, in 1978 made the major acquisition
of Seal-in Plastic Company.
In
1985, Western Badge & Trophy Company entered into the promotional
products market. It quickly established itself as an industry
leader, developing an outstanding reputation for custom, locally
made, high quality products with quick turn-around.
Western
Badge & Trophy kicked off the new millennium by obtaining
an additional 20,000 square foot facility. This structure enabled
WB&T to nearly double production capacity for its ever-growing
line of identification, awards & specialty items. In addition
it made more room for the assembly, packaging (vacuum form, blister
pack, shrink wrap, polybagging, skin wrap, R.f. sealing, P.O.P.
displays, custom polypropylene packaging design) Direct Mail and
Direct Import services WB&T offers.
Since
its conception 91 years ago, Western Badge & Trophy has rooted
itself in the West Coast business community. It has grown with
the times by branching out to related fields and continues to
blossom year-after-year well into our present 21th century.
